What Extend is

The five apps are not the end of it. When your company needs something they do not cover — a register of equipment, a log of complaints, a checklist for a machine — you describe it, and kyte builds it.

That is Extend: the second setting of the switch above the message box.

Why it is a separate mode

Cowork works with your data. Extend changes the structure your data lives in. Keeping them apart means the agent cannot restructure your workspace while you are asking it to add a customer — in Cowork it does not have those tools at all.

It also means Extend never gets the file tools or a shell. Building structure is not a reason to run commands on your disk.

What comes out

Not a sketch, not a spreadsheet: an app like the built-in ones. Its data lives in the same database, under the same rules, and it appears in the app list beside CRM and ERP.

Every table you describe gets the full set without asking: a list, a record view, an edit form and a + New button. That is why a two-sentence description can turn into something usable.

Who can see it

A new app is yours at first — the person who built it. Nobody else sees it in their list.

When it has proven itself, an administrator shares it with the team. From then on it follows the same role rules as everything else.
