When something goes wrong

Tell us

Send feedback, bottom left. Write what happened in your own words; it goes straight to the kyte team.

Say what you were doing and what you expected. "The invoice list is empty after I filtered by customer" is worth ten times "list broken", because it can be reproduced.

What kyte reports by itself

Faults are reported automatically while kyte is in beta — the error, never your data. Prompts, names and table rows are stripped before anything leaves the machine, so we see that something broke and where in the code, not what you were working on.

That is why you do not have to describe a crash precisely. Describing what you wanted is the part we cannot see.

The app is stuck

Quit and reopen it first. A long-running app that has lost its way usually comes back healthy, and you lose nothing: your data is on disk, not in the window.

If it happens again in the same place, that is worth reporting — that is the useful kind of bug report.

Something is missing after an update

Check the version at the bottom left and whether an update is waiting; see version and updates. If the app and your team server disagree about versions, the app says so plainly.

Starting over

Reset / start over on the sign-in screen deletes the local workspace and returns to the setup — it asks first, and it cannot be undone. For a workspace with a team server, what is on the server is untouched by this; the device simply starts again.
