Install kyte
Download kyte from kyte.pirol.ai. The button offers the build for the system you are on.
macOS
You get kyte-latest-arm64.dmg — an Apple Silicon build (M1 and newer). Open it, drag kyte into
Applications, start it.
The app is signed and notarized by Future Intelligence Ventures UG, so macOS lets it run. The first launch takes a few seconds longer than later ones: the system checks the signature once.
Windows
You get kyte-latest-x64-setup.zip. Unpack it, then run the installer inside.
It is a zip on purpose. Browsers warn about a bare .exe download or block it outright; a zip is
just a file.
Windows will warn you before it runs. kyte's Windows build is not signed yet — a certificate for that is in progress. SmartScreen shows a blue window saying the publisher is unknown. Click More info, then Run anyway. The installer needs no administrator rights: it installs for your user only.
Linux
There is no Linux build today.
What gets installed
One application, and a folder for your data. Nothing is installed system-wide, no service runs in the background, and no database has to be set up: kyte brings its own.
Where your data lands depends on how you set the app up — the first start decides it — see also where your data lives.
Updating
kyte checks for updates itself and shows the version at the bottom left. See version and updates.
Uninstalling
Move the app to the bin (macOS) or uninstall it from Windows' app list. Your data stays behind on
purpose: deleting the app is not the same decision as deleting the company's records. The data
folder has to be removed by hand — on macOS it is ~/Library/Application Support/kyte.
