Your first hour

This picks up where the setup left off: kyte is installed, you are signed in, and the workspace has your company's name on it and nothing in it. (If you are not there yet: install kyte, then the first start.)

An empty workspace is the hardest moment in any business software. The fastest way through it is to stop typing and start asking.

Let the agent interview you

After setup the agent opens the conversation and offers to walk you through it. Take the offer. It asks what your company does, which tools you use today and what could be exported from them, and it puts the answers in as it goes.

If you skipped it, start it yourself: "Ask me what you need to know about my company, one question at a time."

Three ways to get data in

You will use all three.

Tell the agent. "Add Meyer GmbH as a customer, contact Anna Weber, anna@meyer.test" creates the record. Ask for ten and you get ten.

Attach a file. Drop a spreadsheet of customers into the chat and ask for them to be imported. The agent shows you what it understood before it writes anything — see working with the agent.

Type it in. Every app has a + New button and a form. For a handful of records that is quicker than explaining them.

Start with customers

Everything else hangs off them: projects, invoices, deals and processes all point back to a company. Once your customers are in, the rest has something to attach to.

A reasonable first hour:

  1. Customers — the ten you work with most. Not all of them, the ten that matter.
  2. One project for a customer you are working with right now.
  3. One process you repeat — onboarding a customer, closing a month, handing over a job. Write it as the steps a person would take.
  4. One document in Knowledge that you catch yourself explaining over and over.

That is enough for the workspace to be useful. The rest arrives as you work.

When something is wrong

Correct it in the form, or tell the agent. "The contact at Meyer is Anna Weber, not Anne" is a fine instruction; it finds the record and fixes it.

Nothing here is permanent, and nothing is graded. The workspace is yours.

Next: working with the agent — what it can do on its own, and where it stops to ask.
